"Managing Your Own Household Well" (1 Timothy 3:4-5)

In this series, Matthew covers a lot of ground with men in the two areas of marriage and fathering, and it's all about God's purpose and design for our families. In the first half, he focuses on a man's role as husband and aspiring to love our wife as Jesus loves His church and unselfishly gave Himself up for her. In the process, he takes a penetrating, lively, and sometimes painfully honest look at many of the issues implicit in leading, communicating, staying heart-connected all the time, and maintaining intimacy.

The second half is devoted to a man's role as father and having vision for the entire season of life called "parenting." Subjects covered included aiming your children from infancy "in the way they should go," our responsibility in training and disciplining our children, keeping our children's hearts with ours, sheltering our families from evil influences, parenting together in harmony with your wife, the differing aspects of raising sons and daughters, launching our children into adulthood, and much more.

What makes this teaching especially unique is because these truths are shared with an ongoing, direct linkage between men being proven in the "managing of their own household well " and being qualified for leadership in the church (1 Tim. 3:4, 12). This series will speak to men in all stages of life—from single young men who are looking toward marriage and needing to establish a vision for "their own household" to the newly married who are in need of equipping, to men who are well down the road and need encouragement and refreshing.

"The Heart of Her Husband Trusts in Her"

This new series by Maranatha is based on the scripture found in Proverbs 31 and is a strong encouragement for wives to learn to be someone whom their husband can trust in, count on, and "sink into." She talks about practical ways to be the helper that God intends by covering the importance and the "how to's" of being always available, ever "ready for the hand-off," good with time and money, and full of life and energy. A lot of time is also spent sharing about how to be a "safe place" for your husband emotionally. She looks at everything from respecting, affirming, and learning your man and his heart, to being a good listener, to pouring out love and being a stable woman of faith whom he finds to be a real comfort and true friend. As with all of Maranatha's teachings, she raises God's standard to believe what He has said, jump wholeheartedly into action, and not partake of the world's leaven or be women who are "frightened by fear."

"Her Lamp Does Not Go Out At Night"

Taken from Proverbs 31:18, Maranatha challenges women to be completely available to their families all of the time, and focuses on how that applies as a "keeper" or "worker at home" (Titus 2:3-5). This six-CD series provides hours of teaching filled with many examples, stories, specifics, and hundreds of practical ideas. It touches on being a wife and mother but all in the scope of a woman's function in the home. It is loaded with seeing God's heart and design while embracing that He has made a way for us to do what He has called us to. She uncovers lies, teaches the how-to's of managing and scheduling, gives away how to inspire your children, and walks you through making your home a safe refuge. Other subjects included are: finding joy in every job or task, embracing weaknesses and limitations, building confidence, having a home full of love, bringing Jesus into everything, learning to flow, dealing with perfectionism, giving your kids a love for work and love for learning, and so many more topics. Our homes can truly be a place where everyone wants to be, including us!

Seeing, Entering and Expressing the Kingdom of God

Jesus and the apostles constantly taught, preached, and demonstrated the kingdom of God. Why then do we really know and hear so little of His kingdom in our day and time when it is what Jesus explicitly told us to "seek first" and proclaim (Matt. 6:33, 24:14)? In this series, Matthew takes an in-depth look at how we are to see, enter, and express the kingdom of God in our daily lives -- which is the very essence of the life of a child of God and the life of the church. This is a call for Christians to awaken and learn to live awake to Jesus and His realm in the Spirit, abide in Him more consistently, "put on and wear" who we are in Him, "fight the good fight of faith" (1 Tim. 6:12), and overcome.

Vision for the Lord's Lampstand

What does it mean for a church to have the testimony of "God among us"? How are all the diverse functions of the church to shine forth into the world? This message would be helpful for any church at any stage of growth, but what makes it unique is that Matthew originally gave it as an initial vision for a new church that was just starting out. It’s full of overview and strong encouragement for what the Lord desires to do in/through/among His people who are gathering together in His Name and allow Him knit them together into His dwelling place. It's also a plea to not aim low and settle for having lifeless “services” in your home and calling what you have "New Testament church life."

The Eternal Purpose of God

This series is for hungry, dare-to-be-honest Christians who seek to know God's heart and be fully faithful to walk in His way even if this takes them out of "the mainstream." Why is there such a dramatic difference between the church we read about in the New Testament scriptures and the increasingly impotent & worldly religious institutions we see denominated and fragmented everywhere? What is God's ultimate purpose and aim for His people and how do we cooperate with it? What stands in the way and obstructs us from gaining this ground? How do we overcome? There are answers!

Encouragement for the "Doing" Part of Faith

We all know that "faith without works is dead" (James 2:14-26), and that our believing God will be expressed in some way if it is real. In this teaching, Matthew takes a look at God's specific provisions for instructing His people in the "doing" aspect of walking by faith. And the biblical name by which this practical instruction is called will shock you! A delightful redeeming of a biblical term that has been largely ruined and taking heart in the reality behind it!

Dealing with Temptation

We all deal with temptations of many varieties—how do we overcome? What "tools" are available to help us when we are being tempted? What is the Lord's "way of escape" and how do we take it (1 Cor. 10:13)? This message contains a thorough and encouraging look at the whole subject.

Walking in Forgiveness

An in-depth look at releasing those who have wounded us and then living free from bitterness. Shared especially in light of God's call for us to walk together as His holy, set-apart people and not allowing "advantage to be taken of us by Satan" and the schemes he perpetrates through the inevitable hurts and offenses that come up in our life together as His church.

Individual CD, $10

Hindrances to Moving with the Holy Spirit

There are two basic "default settings" from which people "do life," and everyone's flesh has a primary bent toward one of them—and they both get in the way of flowing with the Holy Spirit's leadings. This teaching deals with our "mode of operation" and shows what it means to truly wait upon the Lord with openness and then act when He reveals His will.

"...so enjoyable to listen to... I felt very convicted and yet hugged at the same time."

Loving from Freedom

In his letter to the churches of Galatia, Paul explicitly declared that we "were called to freedom" and that "it was for freedom that Christ set us free." Because of this, we are to "keep standing firm" in our freedom in Christ and are "not to be subject again to the yoke of slavery" that comes with living by law (Gal. 5:1-15). At the same time, we are commanded repeatedly to love. How then do we love the Lord and one another from freedom when it is what we are supposed to do? How do we obey the Lord's command to "fervently love one another from the heart," stay abiding in His freedom, and yet keep ourselves from turning it into "the leaven of the Pharisees" (living by law)? This teaching provides encouragements and exhortations that will help reconcile these types of dilemmas that all disciples of Jesus have to deal with when seeking to walk with pure motives in obeying "the greatest commandments."

Subtle Ways We Walk Like "Mere Men"

It's easy to recognize the obvious and blatant deeds of the flesh in order to deal with them, but what about the subtle ways we can "walk like mere men," as Paul referred to, instead of as sons and daughters of God and "new creatures in Christ" (1 Cor. 3:3)? This teaching looks at a number of ways we may be doing this without even realizing it so we can turn from them and make more room for the Jesus and His kingdom in our lives.
